A 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Turkey and Syria and was felt elsewhere in the Middle East, including Lebanon and Iraq just before sunrise on Monday, February 7. The quake is one of the strongest to hit the region in over 100 years. At least three additional earthquakes of similar magnitude have hit the area and more than 100 aftershocks were felt.
As people in Turkey, Syria, and elsewhere wake up to uncertainty, the next few days are critical.
