I like to think that I am pretty well versed in Latin American issues. I flipped this open to the middle to a section called 10 surprising fascinating and unexpected facts about the United States...of Mexico. That was a fun list of items that should make any Mexican and Mexican American proud! The next page had my mouth watering with the Arepas and Pabellon Criollo recipes. Then I dug into the meat of the articles on identity and terms, school busses set up as learning centers, and freight train corridors running through Mexico that transport migrants. I think that the conservative members of my family would be able to understand these things and maybe connect with the human stories told in ways that draw you in. Thank you.
